"Pinterest" inspiration

Well friends, tonight I got back to my crafty side and decided to make a few things for my house for the holiday season. I got my inspiration for these ideas from Pinterest. Anyway, tonight I made a sign that was inspired by this...

Not bad, ehh?  I'm pretty proud of how they turned out...

OH & that's my 99 cent Poinsetta by my new sign that I got at Home Depot on Black Friday! Now, the trick is remembering to water it! haha.

Now tomorrow, my mom and me are going to have a little christmas photo shoot with Gabe. I got tons of ideas from pinterest...so stay tuned for a sneak peak of those in the next few days! They're going to be great! :)

Thanksgiving and then some...

Hello Friends!

I realize it's been a while since I've posted. But, I'm back! And hopefully, I'll get back on the roll of posting several times a week.

Anyway, this was Gabriel's First Thanksgiving! He had the cutest little outfit ever! It was a success! We enjoyed dinner with both sides of the family...and I must say, it was delicious! I love the holiday season...such good food all the time! My favorite holiday dish? Brocolli Casserole... I could seriously eat a whole plate full! :)

Now that Thanksgiving is over...it's time to focus on my diet once again. On Wednesday, I had lost a little over 10 pounds so far on weight watchers... I'm scared I gained a few back over the weekend. So now, it's back to my workout video and healthy food! :)

Did anyone go Black Friday shopping? I did! I met my mom at Wal-Mart at 9:00 Thursday night. So Daddy and Gabe had a night to themselves! :) I stood in line for a camera that I wanted and Mom stood in line for some other things. What I didn't realize was that the camera didn't go on sale until midnight! I thought it was 10:00 p.m. haha. SO, there I stood....for 3 hours! We did manage to get some good deals though... so I'd say our shopping trip was a success.

Taking time for the small things in life.

Tonight, I'm all about taking time for the small things. I had a million things to do tonight... not to mention the fact that my printer is a piece of junk and NEVER prints when I want it to. Anyways, I was trying to get Gabe to sleep so I could do everything I needed to do. I gave him his nightly bath, followed by his bottle. He fell right asleep in my arms. So, I put him down and no more than 2 minutes later...He was SCREAMING! Now, here's the problem... He's a bit spoiled. We've been trying to break him of it...but it's just not working. The only thing he wants is to be held...allll the time. So, I gave in and picked him up and got him back to sleep. Went to put him back down and yep, you guessed it...screaming again. I figured he'd cry himself to sleep...so I gave it 10 minutes. Nothing. Still crying. Not asleep. So, I picked him up, trying to figure out what I was going to do. I couldn't do this all night...especially with so much to be done by the morning. Gabe always sleeps well when he's in bed with me...so, I layed down with Gabe and got him to sleep. He fell right asleep, with his little hand on my chest. I couldn't help but just lay there with him for a while... he is just too sweet. I realized that I need to stop and take more time for these moments. He's going to grow up way to fast and one day, he won't want to lay with me...so, I'm going to enjoy it. After awhile, I went to get up and when I did he reached his little hand out, looking for me. It was the SWEETEST thing ever. SO, I laid back down for a few more minutes. A little, sweet smile swept over his face and he was sound to sleep.

So, here I am now...1:00 in the morning, blogging and finishing everything I had to do. Now, it's time for bed because we have a LONG day tomorrow.

Digital Camera=MIA

Well friends...I've lost my camera. I lost it over the weekend...and I know I had it when we got back to the hotel on Saturday night. I've looked everywhere I can think of. Tonight, I went through Jesse's bag full of military stuff, hoping that we accidentally threw it in there when we were getting ready to leave, and NOPE! it's not there! The last place I have to look is in the car... I already looked in there but not thoroughly. So tomorrow, as long as it's not raining, I'm determined to try to find it in there! I've already called the hotel, but we all know how that goes. If anyone found it, they more than likely kept it. I'd like to think that there are some decent people out there who wouldn't do that though and would turn it in, so fingers crossed if it was found there!

I'm so sad that my camera is missing at the moment though. It had all of our ball pics and Gabe's pics on it. Luckily, I had already uploaded all of the pics on my computer besides the ones from this weekend....but still. I'm sad.

Ok. that's it for tonight. Back to cleaning and searching! My house has been a disaster ever since we got home! :)

Marine Corps Ball Weekend 2011

This past weekend, Jesse and I took a mini vaca because of the Marine Corps Ball! Gabe stayed with his grandparents...and we enjoyed a free hotel room for 3 nights!

We got to StL late Thursday night...Jesse had to be up and ready to go by 7:00. So, we check in, carry all of our bags in, and go straight to sleep. We wake up, late, and hurry to get out the door. I had to take Jesse to work so I could have the car to do some shopping. We end up going the wrong way... getting lost... and having to turn around. It was terrible. But we made in on time, WHEW!
Anyway, Friday night we went out with a couple of our friends to the the casino. Lumiere in fact. We had dinner and then started gambling...well, the guys started gambling. Jesse and I ended up walking out $115 dollars richer! SCORE!
Saturday, a friend and I did some more shopping, grabbed some lunch, picked up Jesse from work, and then went back to the hotel. We had some time to just hang out until we had to start getting ready for the ball that night! Before I knew it, we were dressed and ready to go...and off we went!
The ball was a lot of fun...it always is. But, of course, there has to be one girl that ruins some part of it. Here's what happened... Jesse and I bought our tickets the first week they were available. So, we had assigned seats with the guys that he works with. Well, we get to the ball and set our stuff down at the table. So, CLEARLY, we are sitting there. We go back out to mingle with everyone, come back in, and there are TWO GIRLS sitting at our table and in our seats. When we ask the one if she had someone with her.. she replies..."UMmm, yes... SGt. so and so." First of all, I don't care if your husband is a sergeant or lance... it's rude to take someone's seat. Well, she refused to move and then tells us they bought their tickets LATE!! I was soooo aggravated. Because, not only was she in MY seat... the hotel failed to put enough seats at the table...so basically, we had nowhere to sit. But seriously! That's rude...you don't take someone's seats when their stuff is there. So we picked our cups and stuff up from in front of her and went to find another table! Now, I understand it wasn't her fault, I just wish she would have been a little more polite. :) Oh well!

Anyway, besides losing our seats that night, we had a great time. We ended up sitting at another table with some of Jesse's buddies...which worked out better anyway, cause we would have rather sat by them :)

To top off this fabulous weekend, I've lost my camera! I am soooooo aggravated!! I've yet to unpack everything, so I'm hoping that I jsut misplaced it in one of our bags!

Well, we're glad to be home...and even more glad to see our baby boy. 3 nights away from him was wayyy to much! Oh...and Rylee was pretty happy to see us come home too!
