Gabriel's 1st Halloween!

Happy Halloween Everyone!!

This year, Gabriel celebrated his very first Halloween! What was he you may wonder? A Pumpkin...a very cute pumpkin! We went "trick-or-treating" to Mama and Papa's yesterday and Gabe dressed up again tonight as well. He got a glow seahorse from Aunt Nicki, Uncle Benji, and Emeri! It plays songs and ocean sounds and lights up. Gabe's going to love watching and listening to it!

Cardinals Win World Series...

If you're a Cardinal fan, then you probably spent most of the past week or so glued to your tv at night watching the 7 games. It doesn't get more exciting than Thursday night's game when the Cardinals came back from being behind by 2...TWICE! It was an intense, but exciting game. So exciting....that Gabe passed out after the 9th inning! They win... and it's off to game 7! So, yesterday, I got Gabe all dressed up for his favorite baseball team... to cheer them on to win their 11th World Series! He was decked out...from cardinals shirt, pants, jacket, and even a baseball cap! He was adorable...if I don't say so myself! :)

Yesterday, I also took my niece to wal-mart to do some halloween "trick-or-treating" shopping. We like to give her toys rather than candy for halloween...so I thought, "what would be more fun than her getting to pick out exactly what she wants!?" So, off to wal-mart we go. Singing songs like "Twinkle, twinkle, little star" and "Itsy, Bitsy, Spider" all the way there. She's 4. She's hilarious, smart, and the most adorable little girl ever. We had a lot fun. We were on the hunt for a new Barbie. So we headed straight to the toy section. And what did we find!? Lots and Lots of Barbies and Disney Princess dolls!! Her favorite right now is Rapunzel...so instead of a doll she picked out a $25 dollar Rapunzel Castle complete with a doll as well. I managed to convince her to settle for a $17 dollar Rapunzel toy that came with the prince and a boat to play with!

Now, before we left I told her that the toy she picked out was for Halloween and she could have and play with it on Sunday when she came trick-or-treating. That agreement was out the door after we picked out the toy! :) When we got back home, we agreed that she could play with Rapunzel only and then we had to put her back up until Sunday. We came to this agreement after she got really sad for awhile and was going out to ask papa if he would open it...since he didn't know our agreement! I told ya she was smart! haha. Anyway, we also went through the car wash. You know how some car washes have the multi-colored soap...well this one didn't. She told me... "Silly Ami, you went through the wrong one...this one didn't have colors!" haha. I love that girl! :)

Now, let me give you all a little update on my baby boy. He's getting so big. He's about 10 pounds now. Pretty much out of newborn clothes... and he's sleeping for 5 1/2 - 6 hours in a row at night! Whoa!! I can't believe it either! I'm so proud of him. This means more sleep for mommy and it means that we are one step closer to sleeping through the night!!

One last story... I ordered new contacts this past week and did 2-3 day shipping so I would have them sooner. I only had the trials the Dr. gives you when you have the exam and both contacts were ripped. I had to resort to glasses...which lucky me, haven't had a new prescription in probably 5 years. So yes, I'm stuck with old glasses with and old prescription, that gives me a headache wearing them for a long time. I'm also pretty positive that I'm more than likely legally blind wearing them...although, I still see better than I do without them! hah. Anyway, I got online to track my order and it said that they arrived this morning at 7:30 a.m. So, I check outside by the door, in the mailbox, everywhere...and guess what!? They are NOWHERE to be found. So, i decide to drive to the post office and yep, you guessed it...They were closed. Because it was 11:00 a.m. and they closed at 10:00 a.m. I was SOOOOO angry! Makes me hate this stupid town even more!!

So, next weekend is the marine corps ball. I have a dress that fits and Jesse likes. I'm going to do some shopping the day before with a friend...we plan on going to DSW, Nordstrom Rack, the Galleria, and wherever else! I'm super excited. #1 goal = New Over-the-Knee boots! Yay!!

Alright, that's about it for now folks. Hope you all have a good weekend. I'm going to try to start updating more like I had before.

4 months and my house is all baby!

I know I'm a little late on this post...but on October 20 Gabriel was 4 months old! Time sure does fly. He's getting wayy to big too fast! I can't believe it! So, as always, here's a little note to him...

Dear Gabriel,

You are now 4 months old. You're getting bigger. Last week you were almost 8 1/2 pounds...so by now, I'm sure you're close to 9. You are getting so much better at sleeping more through the night. You usually take a bottle between 9:30 and 10:00 p.m., sleep until about 2:00 or 3:00 a.m., take a bottle, and then sleep until about 6:30 or 7:00. Much better than every 2 hours! :)

You love bathtime soo much! Although, it never fails...you usually pee in the water and then bathtime is over. You HATE getting out of the tub though...but you gotta learn not to pee and then bathtime will be longer. haha. You're getting too big for most of your newborn clothes and are now in 0-3 months. You will sit in your bumbo seat for about 10 minutes before you figure out that you're bored. You LOVE Baby Einstein videos...the other day you watched it for about an hour and a half! I couldn't believe it! and you DO love your belly time too!

You are the most handsome little boy. We love you so much.

Love,

Mommy and Daddy

...And now for an update::

Saturday night we had some friends over. I spent most of the day trying to clean my house and that's when I officially realized...my house is ALLLLL baby. Not saying that it's a bad thing... but I couldn't find anywhere to put all of Gabe's things. Our living room is taken over by a swing, bumbo sweat, bouncy seat, blankets, books, etc.... And our kitchen has bottles and pacifiers and formula everywhere too! :) All I could do was clean and organize it all. I decided that it was all just going to have to stay out... And I was perfectly ok with that! :)

Date Night... we went to dinner and to see Lion King 3D!

Top 10

Ami's Top 10 Wish List

1. Tiffany & Co "I Love You Ring"
2. Front loader washer and dryer
3. Dishwasher...or a maid. I'll take either
4. A digital camera that takes GREAT pics... like the ones that retail for $500+
5. Over-the-knee boots
6. Bigger House
7. My Nissan Altima back
8. $1,000,000
9. Sapphire diamond band to go with my wedding rings.
10. A Lifetime of free diapers! :)

Now, I realize that the sapphire band is a long-shot...mainly because I keep asking Jesse for one and he keeps telling me no. His reasoning? He says that I already have 3 bands for my ring... I don't need another. My argument back? A girl can never have too many diamonds. And... I probably won't ever get my nissan altima back... it's just a dream. It was soooo pretty. I miss it! Maybe one day when I'm older and my kid is out of a carseat... I will have an altima again! I'm determined!! OH & the $1,000,000... Jesse and I are determined to win  Monopoly at McDonalds! hahah. :)

Well friends, that's about it. I've been up most of the night crocheting hats for Gabe. My next project is to make a monkey and owl hat...and then some for all of my nieces and nephews.

But for now, it's time for bed. Gabe just had a bottle and is passed out... and it's time for this momma to do the same. Night all!

P.S. Today, Gabriel wore shoes for the very first time! Isn't he handsome!?

Peaceful house

Hey Friends!

I've got a pretty peaceful house right now. The hubby and baby are both asleep. I'm curled up on the couch with a blanket watching Extreme Makeover: Home Edition...and of course, blogging for you all!

I've been wanting to get a gym membership for a while now. But something always comes up and I just don't want to drop the money for a membership. So, I decided to find other ways to workout. I was thrilled and surprised when I found some workouts on Netflix for Instant Play! WOOO!! Now, my plan is to workout at least once, maybe twice a day. I can hook my laptop up to the tv and that way I can do it in the living room. I'm so excited!

On a brighter note, I lost weight this past week. Now that I know I can do it... I'm more motivated! I want new clothes and jeans!! :) Also, I decided that I want some over-the-knee boots... so I gotta keep working at this losing weight thing. Lose weight = new boots! :)

Isn't it funny how fast money disappears? I swear there's an evil little imaginary person who is spending all the money in our bank account! haha. Or maybe it's just all the bills! Sometimes I wish I still had my full-time job. why? Full time job = $$$$ But then, I wouldn't get to stay at home with Gabe. So, I definitely made the right choice to not work full time...and I definitely got the better end of the deal!

Million Dollar Wedding

Yes, I'm ashamed to admit...I'm one of those people that had nothing better to do than to watch Kim Kardashian's Wedding. Although it was beautiful and absolutely perfect...I'd take my wedding day over her's any time! I mean, come on $10 million for a wedding...let's get serious now. That's RIDICULOUS!!! But, I guess when you're a celebrity and want your "fairytale" wedding...you gotta spend the money, huh?

Jesse and I have almost been married for 9 months! CRAZYY!!! I wanted to post a few pics of our wedding day. I realized that I haven't posted any since I started this blog.

Another update... I started weight watchers last week. I'm bound and determined to lose weight before the Marine Corps Ball and for a little shopping spree while we're up there. So far I think I'm doing good...I guess we'll find out at the next meeting.

Gabe has his first shots this week. I'm a little nervous about this. So, we shall see how this goes. He's getting so big. His newborn clothes are almost too small for him. Now, if we could just get this whole sleeping through the night thing down..we'd be on a roll! :)

Guess Dad was right!

It's no secret to those of you who know me that I love country music. My all-time favorite country music group was "The Wilkinsons." My close friends and family know who they are...other than that, it is very likely that you have never heard of them. They had 2 cd's that were pretty popular...and then the next few were kind of not as popular. haha. Well, long story short...I became a huge fan of the group after I met them at Fan-Fair in Nashville many years ago. I was in love with Tyler Wilkinson...even got a pic of just him and I. My dad had it blown up to poster size and it decorated my room for many years.

For a long time, Dad and I have always argued over who was better...the Wilkinson's or George Jones. Clearly, I chose the wrong group. How do I know this? Well, considering the fact that George Jones is a country music legend that I'm almost positive EVERYONE has heard of...that is how I know. It became very clear tonight when I was flipping through the channels on tv and came across a special on GMC...it was the OPRY and it was a special night because it was George Jones' birthday and country stars were doing a tribute to him singing only his songs. It occurred to me that the Wilkinson's have not been on the Opry for many years. So, I have to say... Dad was right. George Jones is clearly the better singer. :)

Well, you may all be wondering how Gabe is doing. Well, last week he weighed 7 pounds 9 ounces. He has to be close to 8 pounds by now. He's getting so big! He is still not sleeping well at night...but I'm confident that one day he will catch on. :) This past weekend we had a wedding... and I must say, he was the cutest lil guy there! He had a little tux onesie that made him look very, very handsome!

Tomorrow I am starting weight watchers. It's time to get down to business... the Marine Corps ball is in exactly one month and I'm determined to lose more weight to fit into my dress....and I also want to do some shopping that weekend too. So, it's time to get serious! :)

That's about it for now friends! Gabe is sleeping...so I need to get some sleep while he does. It's all about sleeping when you can!
